Assessment Information

Our school offers a range of qualifications via awarding bodies which include AQA, OCR, Pearson Edexcel, Princes Trust, and ASDAN.  In addition, we offer the Arts, Sports Leader and Duke of Edinburgh Awards.  Our pupil’s complete awards and qualifications in English, mathematics, science, food technology, art, PE and personal development.  These may include entry level, functional skills, foundation and GCSE qualifications, dependent on pupils’ abilities and interests.  Pupils begin actively preparing for awards and qualifications from Year 9, while still enjoying a broad and balanced curriculum at this stage.  Awards and qualifications are generally gained by the end of Year 11.  If a pupil has not completed their qualifications or awards, this information is shared with their post-16 setting so that they can continue their studies.

Many of our pupils have access arrangements in place which ensure they have fair and equitable access to assessments and exams.  These can include, but are not limited to, regular breaks, extra time, readers and pen readers, word processors and adapted papers. We are fortunate to have trained invigilators on our staff who support the exams process.

If you have any questions about our qualifications or awards, please contact our Upper School Lead or our Exams Officer at the school.

Due to the needs of our pupils, Stone Hill School does not carry out statutory assessments.

School performance data for Stone Hill School can be found on the DfE website.
