At Stone Hill we use the Seesaw App (Seesaw) to support regular communication between home and school.  All of our teachers post learning and events on the app at least twice a week so that parents and carers can talk to their children about their learning.  Our parent and carer surveys tell us that parents and carers find this app very effective for home school communication.  Our pupils can also access the app and enjoy seeing themselves in action with their learning.  Seesaw is also very useful for parents and carers to communicate directly with class teachers, for example, about their child's absence or to pass on pertinent information. This facilitates regular communication and ensures staff can confidently support our pupils.

Our Senior Leadership Team and Key Stage Leaders use Seesaw to share important information, conduct surveys, share newsletters and pupil reports.

Communication via Seesaw complements our annual reviews with parents and carers, as well as the annual parents and carers evening, and our open evening event.  Parents and carers also enjoy attending regular workshops in school which enhance their understanding of their child's learning and behaviour.  Some workshops we have on offer include reading and phonics, numeracy, autism, internet safety and behaviour support.  We work closely with the CAMHS Learning Disabilities Team who arrange annual parent and carer training, as well as parent and carer consultation days.  Our coffee and cake mornings are much enjoyed by our parents and carers.

We understand and value the importance of parents and carers being fully involved in their children's learning, and our 'Remake Learning' programme last year saw all parents and carers invited into school or on a class trip to share in their children's learning.  These events were immensely enjoyed by parents and carers, as well as their children who were proud and excited to share their learning.  We are continuing the programme this year and are looking forward welcoming parents and carers to our annual picnic!

At Stone Hill School, our door is always open to meet with and talk to parents and carers.  If you want to get in touch to arrange to a meeting, please Seesaw your child's class teacher or call the school on 01302 800090.
